Welcome back to our summer term! (weather permitting!) A few gentle reminders and updates regarding this term:
Monsters, myths and magic! We are going to become really familiar with lots of different myths and legends this term so we can magpie all of the great bits to write our own. Science will be focusing our minds for Whitby (year 4s) and year 5s will be looking at plant and animal life cycles. In history and geography we will continue learning about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings and of course we will be using their wonderful tales to ignite our imaginations and curiosity.
PE will be on Monday afternoons (with Mr Hackett) and Wednesday mornings (Year 4s) and will continue to be outdoors. This term we will focus on athletics and tennis and where possible I recommend trainers. Please remember to label all PE kit. Year 5's will be swimming on Wednesday mornings so don't forget your kit!
Homework - Keep up with your reading targets - this is medal term! Don't forget to get your name on the leader board for the Reading Challenge Books - year 4 and year 5. Year 5s have some project work to complete for the 1st week in July - best to keep on top of it by doing a little each week.
Music - going from strength to strength for the year 4's and all the children who continued this year! We are hoping to be involved in a couple of performances this term so it goes without saying we really do need to practise regularly and remember our instruments on a Tuesday!
Have a look at our topic web for further information. Before you know it, it will be the summer holidays!!!!!
